Digital Producer Video
When converting home videos to my computer using a video camera, I only get video, no sound. Help?
The video and the fine reproduce the sound on the Sony Digital 8 camcorder playback mode. I'm using Monster cables (S cable and audio cable) to connect to a capture device (KWorld unit with S cable and red and white connectors) that connects to the USB port of my desktop. I only get the video without sound. I have tried Windows Movie Maker, Arc Soft Video Prints and Cyberlink Power Producer. All give me the same thing. I selected the USB device for video and audio source, but what else should I do? Thank you.
I do not know the answer, but you could reduce the variables by using the same cables to connect the camcorder to your TV and see if it works. As said Rugratzzz, firewire would be your best option - I think he's still pessimistic about the time and cost of fitting one, however.
