Factory Warranty
is 2006 BMW 325i with 40,000 miles reliable mileage factory warranty only?
I am planning to buy 2006 BMW 325i .. Do not know what is good choice? ABT I've seen cars with about 40,000 miles. what is the recommended period to change the timing belt? What is the annual maintenance cost of others? I can go for certificates or only car factory warranty?
First of all I would point out that this model does not use BMW timing belt, uses timing chain and that lasts the lifetime of the engine if properly maintained. The key here is the maintenance record. BWM are great cars, but very expensive to maintain. Concessionaire maintenance does automatic transmission unless you pay for it, well, what most people skip out on that (Later it will cost $$$$$$). My BMW clicked more than 200,000 miles and runs like new because I've spent more than 2,500 regular maintenance per year since the beginning. Major optimizations runs two times that amount when you have to replace the suspension and steering bushings, shock absorbers, etc. It's a perfect car second hand for a mechanic who has a garage full art at home. Others have to know what is involved before buying one, is a car of high maint. Then I bought my BMW 7 series from its first owner who had all records that had to replace a transmission, suspension components and other miscellaneous things. The total cost was ~ $ 13,000. After it was excellent. Only buy it if it's still under warranty and keep the maintenance up to date. If you are looking for a true drivers car, you will be rewarded.
