Can I HD channel with S-video input?
I have a Hitachi 55HDT79. Its all the 1080i, 720p, 480i, etc. Currently prepared dishetwork his only connection to the receiver 508 via S-video and my local cable RF input. Recently a local station airing its news in HDTV format started, and they say, everything I have is an HDTV-ready TV and I will get it in HD News High Color details, etc. But not only her own channel, but show all the channels, 480i, when I press the INFO button so I wondered if I get their pictures in 720p or 1080i broadcast with only S-video or RF cables, when the channel broadcast in HD or do I need an OTA HD antenna or can get get a cable box or antenna receiver with component or HDMI output is received on that channel in HD. No S-Video is not an HD-capable connection. You must pass either component or HDMI to HD signals. This means that the source must be capable of High Definition. Time to upgrade your Dish Network Box to a HD device.
