How do you record drums in a studio at home?

I want to save the battery in a home studio. What I saw some people Is this a good way to save, or would it be better to suspend overhead mic microphones to the computer. What type of cables I need, and that I should buy some sort of equivalent or preamp.

ok much better approach is to use microphones and battery an appropriate Usb Mixer. You'll need XLR leads, a few booths, a little patience and experimentation have fun.
