How do you record drums in a studio at home?
I want to save the battery in a home studio. What I saw some people Is this a good way to save, or would it be better to suspend overhead mic microphones to the computer. What type of cables I need, and that I should buy some sort of equivalent or preamp.
ok much better approach is to use microphones and battery an appropriate Usb Mixer. Micro battery: best value for money than I can say is about 5 145 red audio quid a set of seven microphones everything you need including kicks, toms, 2 mics and overheads trap http://www.red5audio.com/ You'll need a Mixer Usb or FireWire to this end they can also be expensive, but you must be at least 8 Channel Mixer as there are 7 mics.Personally drum I use a 16-Channel Usb mixer.You should check for channels unless you have the battery separately (very painful). You'll need XLR leads, a few booths, a little patience and experimentation have fun.
