How do I uninstall an Alpine car stereo from a 1991 Honda Accord 7513?
I have this old Alpine 7513 (circa 1991) in 1991 (oddly enough) Honda Accord. I want to remove it yourself. Since I have never removed a car stereo, I wonder if it was worth when I try to always get professional help or with her. Thank you
It can be done yourself, I guess you bought the car with the stereo in it already. The big question is the previous owner, they have cut and splice wires, or use an adapter to hook up the stereo. The year of the vehicle it is doubtful. If there is a connection available to harness, it makes to remove much more easily. You need to remove the center console cover. There should be four screws holding it. Two top and two below. This cover, which is installed the Alpine is in. On some of the Accords, you could even remove the console when the shift lever. You have to switch so far departure from the dashboard as possible. If an automatic shift to 1st, where a rule to move it to 2 and apply the emergency brake. Once the lid is removed away, everything attached to it is with the cover to remove, then you can expose the Alpine from the rear access and the wires. During this time you will be able to tell if the wires were cut and the edges, or was it a plug that was used. If you have a connection, you will find everything you need to do is pull it apart and then start removing the Alps by bending back the aluminum tabs with the cage that is slipped into the Alpine. If the unit had been cut wires and edges, you need the battery disconnected under the hood, then cut each wire so you can remove the Alpine. Once you remove the Alpine and cut the wires, I would suggest, Taping of the positive wire so that they do not touch anything metal and blow the fuse. The positive wire is usually greater than all others. In those years, Honda's, if I remember correctly, it could be yellow, red, blue or white (with blue stripe). Hope this helps. Good Luck!
