Welcome to the wonderful world of shortwave listening (SWL). Test your listening comprehension of foreign languages; about news from abroad, or to different opinions and interests of ordinary people around the world, test your political IQ of their country by the evaluation by an outsider in the eyes of a discriminating eye, then threw to domestic and geopolitical situation: It is always interesting, the news about your country by foreign to hear professionals abroad. There is nothing more expensive than short-wave radios. Radio Shack or any good electronics store will sell a shortwave radio antenna. It is a six to ten feet long coil few strands of copper wire in plastic-covered flat, on a small wound. Hang the spool near or in your window, close the free end of the cable to your radio telescope, the antenna and tune in to a program. For only one few dollars of SWR antenna optimized to receive, without charges it weaker, even at night. The difference it makes is astounding. You can create your own simple "wire antenna" do with a piece of wire from used headphones: just hang one end of a long strand of wire at a turning point in your window, and set about an inch from the Copper wire at the other end. Wrap this around the top of the radio-telescope antenna. Sometimes I have to help a couple of thick rubber bands to wrap my portable radios, to insulate them against Impact or fracture if they should fall.
