Replacement Diaphragm
How a complicated ZF S6-650 in a Ranger from 1990 to 1998?
I'm investigating a major upgrade to the transmission of a Ford Ranger 1994 with a diaphragm clutch "4-2.3/10 / Visteon M5OD-R1/220mm Matsuda, R & P undetermined. I like the way of changes, but found a need to gear much shorter to begin in the parking steep forward and reverse. The ZF S6-650 is the reverse of short / low gear I need. The assembly problem is: What driven by the clutch disc, pilot bearing and what do I have to adapt the input shaft S6-650 to my existing wheel preplanned replacement clutch pressure plate? Besides, what bellhousing (or adapter) to connect the -650 to my engine?
A lot of work. It is physically much larger than its current transmission. You will need to make a 2 "or 3" body lift to remove the transmission. Furthermore, it is much heavier, you're probably going to need stiffer springs front and rear to support the presentation extra. The ZF S6-650 is designed to support a much larger engine. Make an adapter to adapt to its current engine will be very expensive. You may need a new flywheel and clutch.
