Loudspeaker Matching Formula in an audio amplifier home System
In terms of power, compare the amplifier power (watts) by the power handling capacity (watts) the speaker. Speaker Power is measured by watts but actually the power of a speaker is measured by sound production capacity is measured by decibel (dB). no linearity dB with power handling capacity (watts)
The electricity signal is transformed into sound energy by loudspeakers. Power rating speaker is measured by production capacity, but watts of sound is measured in dB. For example, some speakers, both are 100 watts. One produces 90 dB (1 1watt mt) and produces 93 dB. Second is expected to double the volume of sound through the same power compared to the first.
By using the program below, you can easily calculate how much dB you can provide your system or you may choose your amplifier or speaker in accordance with your request.
This software one is prepared in MS Excel and has a similar throughout the world.
Calculating the volume of sound has many complexities. The furniture, the dimensions Site, floor coverings, windows, heat, humidity, amount of people in the room of my software, etc. can not provide 100% accurate, but gives an idea and guides listener through a more conscious way. In my opinion, a full-range system should provide at least 93 dB of sound. The attacks of a symphony orchestra can be approximated at these levels. So if you tend to establish a full-range system, your goal should be to achieve 93 dB of sound at the listening chair.
Input the parameters of your system software below and calculate what you have in your listening chair. In other words, put your desired parameters and calculate the hardware you should buy.
I would like to add a footnote here that when using the formula, the result will be the power of your speaker. If your amplifier Power is powerful your speaker, if so, enter your speaker power formula.
For example, assume that your speaker has 100 watts of power, but the amp has 250 watts of power. Their sound is limited to speakers, therefore the input of 100 watts of amplifier power, but not 250 Watts.
