Stereo Condenser Microphone
Can I access my microphone to camcorders and use it as a recording device for my computer?
I am a DJ on Internet Radio Station and my current desktop microphone is very poor quality, but the microphone built into my camcorder is a condenser microphone High quality stereo. My camcorder connects to my PC via Firewire and I wonder if it is possible to record audio from a my camcorder microphone on my PC. This should save me from buying a cheap condenser microphone.
easy answer, no. Firewire your camcorder was not designed for that purpose, you can not use it like that. However, if there is a line in the video + audio you may be able to run a wire from the audio output port to the line on your PC. Depends on whether specific camcorder, and if it has these links. The same would you use to connect directly to the TV to display your images.
