Tube Condenser Microphone
What is the best way to connect my microphone / preamp to my PC for recording?
I'm looking into buying of a condenser microphone V63m MLX, I would then connect to a preamp ART Tube MP. I do not have a mixer but I have a audio recording software like Audacity and Acoustica. I spent a good majority of my money on these if I did not have enough respect for all firewire. However, there are 1 / 4 inch to USB ports of USB converters and converters XLR. I was wondering if anyone had experience with one of these and if so, is the sound quality? (After all the quality is why I just spent more than a hundred dollars on such things) So if anyone knows any other way to obtain a high quality mic preamp with its PC, I'm open to suggestions. Shade - I'll try to give you a short answer Nice. You really do not need to buy the preamp if you plan to record computer. You only need a microphone and a Usb Audio Interface with phantom power. If you plan on keeping the preamp, you can always use but it will be dismissed for the USB Audio Interface has a preamp. You do not want to connect the output of your preamp directly to the computer - The sound is bad and you will be wasting your money on the mic Nice.
