Headphone amplifier output in mono instead of stereo?

I bought a 4-Channel Stereo headphone amplifier. I have standard guitar cable from a 4.1 Customs the headphone output on my Mackie 1402 VLZ Pro Mixer. This cable is going into the input of the headphone amplifier. When I plug my headphones into the outputs the headphone amplifier, I only get sound in one ear. I prefer the 4.1-inch wire over 1 / 2 inches from the entrance to the headphone amplifier, I get stereo sound, but I'm very sensitive about it. Why does this happen?? How come i dont get stereo sound when I plugged all the way in?? I have the same had problem with my mixer. I have the wrong cable?? Is this brand new headphone amplifier is defective? Please help me? I mean, it works, But as I said, I have the cable from the entrance a little bit of pull, and to learn to be perfectly preserved, for me stereo sound in the headphones.

It sounds like the wrong cable, or at least have the wrong end of the cable. A stereo 4.1-inch jacks have three connections on it. The metal tip is a Area with a very narrow plastic ring between it and a metal ring that may be followed by 3 / 16 of an inch from another narrow plastic ring, then the rest of the plug the third wave as a conductor. The big wave is the ground or common connection, the law usually the right channel and the tip is usually the left channel. If the metal ring is not on your phone plug it a mono plug is not stereo. This would lead to Jack hears only one channel if a stereo. Another possibility is that the jack is not plugged into a standard 4.1-inch jack. It could be a short version or a mono version. These are harder to identify and would have with the amplifier, check it out open. If you bought the amp from a local store, they should be happy to give you some help on this problem.
