What Car Stereo Condenser Is it necessary?!?! BOSS 1200 watt amp, channel 2. Need a professional to respond to this.?

Unless get a capacitor for my alternator and battery are shot to hell again, so I know I need a capacitor. What will satisfy BOSS 1200W 2 channel amplifier? 0.5 Farad? 1 Farad? Help me guys. I do not know the prices either. I know that Pep Boys sells one that is 0.5, for like $ 100 or less. That would anyway used up ... HELP MEH!

The capacitors should be much cheaper than what I saw at Pep Boys. Here's one I found online .... not even the best selection out there, is just the first deal that came in like 2 seconds. Google "car stereo" and browse for some sites out there for capacitors. Anyway, here is a 1 farad cap for $ 40 ... http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=19831 As a rule, are worth recommending the capacitor 1 farad per 1000 watts RMS. Ignore the maximum ratings of the amplifier, which does not mean absolutely nothing (except as a marketing tool for cheaper brands). Being a Boss amp, I would bet that your "1200 watt amp" is actually rather rated for 500-600 watts RMS. With this in mind, a half farad cap would probably be enough, but .... you really can not go wrong with a big hat as necessary, and a total cap farad be so cheap, gives you more headroom when you upgrade to more amplifiers or greater in the future. This site even had 2 caps a few farad for about the same price ... something to think about. Finally, back to your first point ... if you burn through alternators and batteries, for some right .... has nothing to do with capacitors. A capacitor will maintain the power of their amplifiers at a consistent level, so that its low are more affected, and will not lights dimming when the bass makes the voltage to drop. * * Not having a ceiling should not cause any damage to your alternator or battery however. If that is happening, you have other issues going on in your car that a cap will not fix. Before you mess with the stereo more, you'll need a mechanic to look things over and find out what is killing your charging system, as it has amplifier is not at all powerful enough for any of it alone.
